Like Hungry Wolves - Jacobite Rebellion of 1745

Last weekend I had the opportunity to playtest my Historicon game with the club.  The period is the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745.  Miniatures are Old Glory 15s.  The scenario title comes from Stuart Reid's excellent book, "Like Hungry Wolves."

I used a modified/mashup version of Dan Mersey's rule systems - Pikeman's Lament and The Men who would be Kings.  We had two players that were familiar with the Lion Rampant rule system, and two who were not, but everyone picked up the rules quickly.

The scenario takes place during the winter of 1745/46.  The Jacobites have quartered at Inverness, and the Government troops at Aberdeen.  Both armies sent out smaller forces to establish outposts to cover their main body.  In this scenario, both sides converge on small village looking for shelter from the cold.

  1. That looks absolutely wonderful. One of the most period evocative tables I have seen in a while. More please!
